Kevin Donovan

Director of Worthington United 94

Kevin Donovan served as the Director of Coaching for Worthington United from 2018-2021, and was elevated to the Director role in the summer of 2021. Prior to coming to Worthington United, he was the Director of Coaching for Columbus Crew SC Player Development, the youth arm of MLS franchise Columbus Crew SC. In addition to his role at Worthington United, Kevin is in his 7th season as the Head Coach for the Upper Arlington Boys Varsity soccer program.


Donovan is also a Level 2 United States Soccer Federation (USSF) Instructor and is licensed to teach U.S. Soccer’s Grassroots and “D” License courses. He earned his USSF National “B” License in 2013. He also holds his USSF National “C” and “D” Licenses, United Soccer Coaches Director of Coaching, GK Level 1 & Level 2, and Futsal Level 1 Diplomas, and has completed a number of youth modules as part of his ongoing coaching education.


Prior to his arrival in Columbus in May of 2017, Donovan spent three years as the Assistant Coach for the Men’s Soccer team at his alma mater Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX. His coaching career also includes a vast amount of experience at the club level, spanning nearly 20 years and includes stints with Lonestar SC in Austin, TX, Woodbury Soccer Club (now Salvo SC) in Minnesota, and the Lions Futball Club in San Antonio, TX.


Donovan received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Southwestern University (Georgetown, TX) in 2005. He currently resides in Upper Arlington, OH, with his wife, Michelle (a Thomas Worthington grad and former Division I soccer player), and their four children.

Director of Player Development

  • Director Bio

    Husband and Dad – Has 3 children all who are active with Sport. All played WYB soccer. All played club soccer. All played multiple sports. His wife, Tracey, was an All-SEC Track/Cross-country Athlete at the University of South Carolina, and currently coaches cross-country and track and field in Worthington.


    Resident of Worthington (Worthington Hills since 2004).


    Wellness4Life (PE) teacher in Worthington Schools since 2007 (currently at Worthington Hills Elementary).


    Directed and co-led the restart of Worthington United in 2013-present. Has been involved as a coach, director, clinician, camp director since 2000.


    Participant in many sports today (avid trail runner, mt biker, skier, hiker, water sports, anything outside!)

Jeff Dybdahl

Director of Learning Academy

  • Director Bio

    Jeff is Worthington United's Director of the Soccer Learning Academy, and also serves as the Director of the United 94 Goalkeeper Academy. He brings with him an extensive amount of coaching experience, having coached in both the high school and club ranks in the Columbus area for over 20 years! Prior to Worthington United, Jeff was the founder and director of WASA Eagles, and later became the co-founder and co-Director of what is now known as the Classics Eagles.


    Jeff seeks to be a continual learner as a coach and director, loving to learn from people around him and through research of productive coaching and teaching methods from around the world. His passion for the game was fostered in Bloomington, MN, where he grew up as a dual-sport athlete playing soccer and ice hockey. After high school, Jeff had a stellar college soccer career at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, where he was a 2-year team captain, a 2-year team MVP, and a member of the all-conference and all-Region teams.


    Jeff has been married to Linda since 2015. Between them, they have seven adult children. Jeff’s three sons all had successful soccer careers, playing soccer in club, high school, and college. Jeff’s daughter competed in gymnastics and diving at an elite level. Linda’s daughter played soccer in club, high school, and college and has been a Soccer Learning Academy coach with United 94. Jeff had a long career in ministry as a youth pastor and as a lead pastor, a profession from which he retired in 2020.

Bryan Troast

Director of Health & Fitness

  • Director Bio

    Bryan is a Wellness 4 Life teacher at Worthington Estates Elementary, has a Master's Degree in Applied Exercise Science-Sports Performance, and holds a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Performance Enhancement Specialist certification. Bryan also has years of experience as a coach with Worthington United, is a caring coach, and a GREAT teacher of the game.
