About WYB

MISSION

Worthington Youth Boosters (“WYB”) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide affordable opportunities for children who reside or attend school in the Worthington School District to participate in organized sports programs.

Goals
  • To provide a safe, fun and healthy youth sports experience for the children who participate in our programs.
  • To promote the principles of participation, sportsmanship, and skill development.
  • To provide a positive and challenging atmosphere where children can establish a genuine interest in and knowledge of competitive sports
  • To promote the core values of integrity, loyalty and hard work for participants, their coaches, and their families.
HIstory

The Worthington Youth Boosters has been in existence since 1952. While Worthington experienced significant growth in the 50's, so did the number of young families who had children with a need for organized sports. A group of parent volunteers formed the Cardinal Boosters. Baseball was the first sport. Over time, community growth continued and many sports were added. When the school system added a second high school in the late 80's, it transformed into the Worthington Youth Boosters, also known as "WYB". The group was registered as a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization in 1988.

WYB Today

WYB has grown significantly since it’s start, now with over 6,000 participants annually! Our programming spans twelve sports with opportunities for kids of all ages to play recreationally or compete at a higher level. We are thankful to the Worthington community, our facilities partners and the hundreds of volunteers who make it all possible.

Governance

Worthington Youth Boosters is governed by a Board of Directors who volunteer their time to oversee the organization and ensure that children in Worthington have the opportunity to play, learn, and grow through sports.
